Vince Hucek

Educator

Kingdom Prep Lutheran High School • Wauwatosa, Wisconsin

While he knew he wanted to be a coach early in life, Vince Hucek wasn’t certain he wanted to become a teacher until after he became a college student. It is a career that hasn’t been without challenges.

“My biggest challenge as an educator is staying positive when I stop and consider all the issues my students are up against outside of school,” said Vince, who teaches government at Kingdom Prep Lutheran High School in Wauwatosa, Wisc.

Vince has been teaching for five years and helped launch the school in 2021. He said “I am incredibly proud of the leadership roles many of our sophomores have taken on as we begin year two of our school.”

Vince received his bachelor’s degree in social science education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and recently completed his master’s degree in administrative leadership at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He mentioned his favorite seminar from the Bill of Rights Institute was the Socratic Seminar training he completed in 2019.

“It was a fantastic training that was directly applicable to my classroom, and [it] provided an awesome opportunity for networking with other teachers,” Vince said.
