Jack Aldrich

Student

Kittanning, Pennsylvania - Class of 2022

Jack Aldrich, one of our 2022 We the Students Essay Contest Honorable Mention winners, has explored a number of interests outside of his homeschool program. Jack has had the chance to partake in activities such as musical composition, creative writing, and political activism. He plans to further his studies in all of these areas at Northeastern College this Fall.

His interest in political activism stems from historical figures such as abolitionist leader John Brown, and labor activist Lucy Parsons (whom he lists as his greatest influence). His discovery and knowledge of the aforementioned historical figures can be attributed to the AP history classes he has taken, which also happen to be his favorite.

There are numerous issues that are particularly important to Jack as a voter, but one topic at the forefront for him is dealing with climate change. Additionally, Jack cares about ensuring LGBTQ+ rights and abolishing Capitalism.
