Tech buddies is a global non-for-profit to use that initiative that connects high school students with senior citizens by providing personalized, one on one tech help. So Tech Buddies was really inspired by our grandparents. And we realized that our grandparents were struggling with technology, and specifically they were asking us so many questions

0:27 about how to use their phones, whether that be managing their notifications or sending a text or managing the volume on their phone. we realized that the digital divide is real, especially amongst the senior population. So far, we have impacted over 3500 senior citizens through our outreach efforts and partnerships with senior living facilities, retirement communities, and community organizations.

0:50 We were so glad that I kept saying that we start only small things, like when they come to home and they ask him, well, “I don’t know everything about this modern technology.” “How do you do this? How do you do that?” So they always said that like, “let me help you, let me help you” started like that. And I never think that they’re going to grow that big with that small things.

1:15 In terms of our student volunteers, we have accumulated a student volunteer pool of over 115 student volunteers. So our numbers are actively growing, though, because we are actively expanding internationally, we’re building new chapters by the day. Actually, I think you know what? It starts as kind of an immigrant mentality, and the grandparents have done a lot for a society in their own ways.

1:38 And the kids saw that, and then they figured out a way now how they can help that generation. Encourage your children, let them follow. As long as they’re not doing something wrong, they’re not harming anyone and they’re on the right track. And trust me, that really keeps their minds active. So haha! Go out into the world and make an impact, because not only will you be helping yourself, but also a huge population of people.

2:00 So I think that will give you a lot of positive positivity inside of your body, but also like everyone else. So I would say just find your passion and pursue it.
