BRI and Utah Valley University Partner For Teacher Workshop
The civics partnership between the Bill of Rights Institute and Utah Valley University was displayed again late last month.
BRI and UVU’s Center for Constitutional Studies presented to elementary school and secondary teachers on Jan. 30 at Southern Utah University. The full-day training workshop featured BRI’s new curriculum for elementary school students, BRI Jr., and primary source analysis strategies related to the Articles of Confederation and Bill of Rights.
All educators from southern Utah were eligible to attend the session, which also focused on Utah’s new social studies core curriculum and provided an overview of the U.S. Constitution. Teachers who participated in the workshop said they “loved” the presentation and that it was one of the best training sessions they attended.
“They are all informational, and so many teaching resources are ready to use!” said one teacher. Another teacher said they already use some of BRI’s videos in their classroom and were happy to learn more about the lessons behind those.
