Samantha Christine, one of the We the Students Honorable Mention winners, is a rising senior at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Metuchen, New Jersey. At school she is involved in a diverse range of activities from being a member of the choir to serving as an editor for the school news magazine. During her time working on the school news magazine, she has formed a close bond with her advisor Ms. Byrne who Samantha now credits as being her greatest influence.
Given her role as an editor, it should come as no surprise that some of Samantha’s favorite classes in high school have been in the English department which serve as the foundation for her future plans “to enhance [her] writing and research skills.” Additionally, Samantha has enjoyed all of her history classes which is part of the reason she would most want to follow Abraham Lincoln if he were alive today.
As a future voter, the most important issues to Samantha include combatting inflation, making strides towards achieving world peace, and focusing on gun control.
