Hannah Slisher

Student

Henrietta, New York - Class of 2022

A graduating senior at Rush-Henrietta Senior High School in Henrietta, New York, Hannah Slisher is passionate about her various involvements both inside and outside of the classroom. The 2022 We the Students Essay Contest runner-up winner, was part of her high school’s cross country and track and field teams, as well as their National Honor Society chapter. Hannah’s favorite classes include chemistry, math, and history. Her joint love for history and Chemistry has inspired her to pursue both majors this Fall as she attends college with the goal of later attending medical school.

The people from history Hannah would most want to follow if they were alive today are both powerful female figures: former first lady Abigail Adams and the Queen of France, Eleanor of Aquitaine. Margaret’s greatest influence is her mom who she credits with being her biggest role model as well.

As a voter, the most important issue to Hannah is the addressing of human rights abuses, such as the Uyghur genocide occurring in China. Additional issues that she would like to see candidates focus on are immigration and the pro-life movement.
