What is MyImpact Challenge?

MyImpact Challenge is a national civic engagement contest hosted by the Bill of Rights Institute. To expand its reach, we’re offering microgrants to educators who host local Civics Fairs—science fair-style events where students showcase their community service and civic projects.

Eligibility:

  • Middle or high school educators in the states of Missouri or Utah are eligible to apply.

What Do Grantees Receive?

  • Funding & Resources: Receive up to $8,000 to cover educator stipends, student prizes, and event costs.
  • Turnkey Support: Access a planning toolkit, teacher guide, and virtual assistance from BRI staff
  • Student Recognition: Give your students the chance to win prizes and gain national recognition.
  • Community Impact: Celebrate civic engagement and strengthen connections among students, families, and local partners.

Grant Disbursement Options

Option A Educator stipends are disbursed directly to the educator (via check or ACH) as a stipend.
Option B Funds for event costs and student stipends are awarded to the school, which disperses payment or reimburses expenses.
Hybrid Stipend portion paid directly to teacher; event and prize funds sent to school.
BRI Supported Funding for teacher stipends is disbursed to either the educator or the school; BRI pays funds to students after the event.
