Sophia Chiancone

Since music and dancing are a significant part of recent Think the Vote debate winner Sophia Chiancone’s life, it’s not surprising that she will continue pursuing her passion while planning to major in business in college. 

“I grew up with three older sisters, so I love any early 2000s music,” said Sophia, who plans to graduate from Junius H. Rose High School in Greenville, NC, next year. “My favorite movies are La La Land and The Sound of Music. I am [also] proud of myself for dancing so many hours a week while also maintaining good grades and academic excellence.” 

Sophia is very involved with the North Carolina Academy of Dance Arts and Future Business Leaders of America. She also considers a particular show business icon as her hero – legendary actress Audrey Hepburn. 

“She went through so much throughout her life and kept pursuing her dream of not only being an actress but also a great humanitarian with UNICEF,” Sophia said. 

Sophia also enjoys traveling, skiing, and meeting new people in her spare time and considers voting and election integrity as the issues she cares about most.
