Shawn McCusker has 25 years of experience as a teacher and leader in public, private, and alternative schools. He is the author of Becoming Active Citizens, winner of the 2022 Foreword INDIES Gold Award for Education. His column “The Tech Savvy Classroom” appeared in Digital Learning magazine. As a teacher and expert in technology integration, his lessons and student products have been featured in the Journal, Education Week, Educational Leadership, and the Huffington Post. In 2006, he was recognized as a finalist for the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching, and in 2016, he was named a Top Trailblazing Educator on Twitter by eSchoolNews. Shawn specializes in implementing innovative instructional practices and has worked extensively supporting schools in underserved areas. He has been a keynote and featured speaker at conferences across the US.
