Standards Alignment Tool Available For Georgia Teachers
As part of the Bill of Rights Institute’s new state standards alignment tool, Georgia teachers now have a new resource to help meet their state’s standards for civics and history education.
This new tool from BRI recommends our resources to Georgia teachers to help them meet their state’s standards. The tool allows teachers to filter their state’s standards by grade, subject, and the type of resource they want to use.
Georgia teachers can filter standards for grades 8-12 and for the subjects of Georgia history, civics, government, and American history. They can also view the content by standards, such as analyzing the role of Georgia in the American Revolutionary era, describing Georgia’s role in World War II, and evaluating the state’s role in the modern civil rights movement.
The tool links to resources under each standard to show teachers what they can use in their classrooms, including activities, videos, essays, and lessons from curricula like our Supreme Court Document-Based Questions (DBQs) and Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness (BRI’s comprehensive U.S. History digital textbook).
BRI held workshops to introduce state standards tools to teachers, and one Georgia teacher described the workshop as “phenomenal.”
“I knew BRI was great, but I was blown away at the resources. I cannot wait to use BRI resources more in the classroom!” they said.
Another Georgia teacher described BRI offering the tool as “vital in the pursuit of educating our nation’s young people … it means the world to be able to access high-quality materials for free for educators.”
