BRI Shows Our Appreciation To Teachers

by Bill of Rights Institute on

The Bill of Rights Institute supports teachers nationwide, all year round, as they work to provide students with the best civics education possible.

But for Teacher Appreciation Month, we want to highlight some of the specific steps BRI takes to assist educators and let them know their efforts do not go unrecognized.

For starters, BRI is currently accepting nominations for our annual National Civics Teacher of the Year award. Submit your nominee by June 30, 2025, and this year’s winner will receive national recognition and a $5,000 prize.

BRI is also a national leader in publishing open educational resources (OER), which means teachers who create a free account on the BRI website can download and print our various curricula and resources, free of charge! Don’t forget to check out BRI’s newest curriculum, Government and Politics: Civics for the American Experiment.

BRI offers a Teacher Fellowship program as well. This is a 9-month initiative to empower educators to deepen their understanding of civics and civic education through philosophical inquiry and innovative teaching methods. Be on the lookout for more information on this year’s program!

As always, BRI also offers professional development workshops throughout the year to introduce teachers to our many resources and help hone their skills as civics educators. BRI staff can also be found at social studies conferences nationwide, all year long, to share our content and answer your questions.
