BRI Receives Top Marks From Nonprofit Evaluators
A pair of independent nonprofits devoted to evaluating the performance of other nonprofits both awarded the Bill of Rights Institute with their highest honors.
Charity Navigator, an organization that evaluates nonprofits, gave BRI its highest 4-star rating. Charity Navigator has rated more than 225,000 nonprofits since 2001, and according to its evaluation, BRI received the top score based on financial health and commitment, governance practices and policies, culture and connectedness to the community, leadership capacity, strategic planning, and the ability to innovate or respond to changes in the needs of constituents.
Another organization, Candid’s Guidestar, awarded BRI its top recognition, the Platinum Seal of Transparency.
According to its website, Candid’s Seals of Transparency give donors insight into organizations, enabling them to make educated decisions about grantmaking.
“One of the most important aspects of maintaining a nonprofit organization's integrity is ensuring its finances are well-managed and the funds provided by donors are used with care and precision,” said Anthony Simone, BRI’s Vice President of Development.
“Receiving the highest ratings from Charity Navigator and Candid’s GuideStar is an outward sign to the public that BRI shepherds their finances well when given in trust to us,” he added. “We’re proud to be able to show our efforts and work in that regard to adhere to the highest measurable standards, and we will continue to keep those ratings and the trust of the public and our supporters strong.
“This recognition wouldn’t be possible without a dedicated and proactive team at BRI, and I am delighted that the Development team includes people of impeccable trust and integrity. Thanks to all of them for making this kind of recognition a reality,” Simone said.
