BRI Has A Busy February
February might be the shortest month of the year, but the Bill of Rights Institute has no shortage of events nationwide this month to promote civics and history education.
BRI began February by presenting at the Kansas Council for the Social Studies conference at the Eisenhower Presidential Library in Abilene, Kan. Attendees were introduced to BRI’s new elementary school curriculum, BRI Jr.
BRI also went virtual this month and partnered with the Lou Frey Institute at the University of Central Florida to present a webinar on executive orders. The session, which also collaborated with the Florida and Wisconsin Councils for the Social Studies, examined executive orders from throughout American history.
The webinar also explained how executive orders relate to the U.S. Constitution and showed teachers how they can help their students understand the powers of each branch of government. BRI will also hold remote training sessions this month on strategies for primary source analysis and BRI resources that discuss the Declaration of Independence.
Do you want to check out BRI in person, before February ends? There is still time! BRI will present at social studies conferences in North Carolina, Missouri, Virginia, and Colorado, and at the National Association of Independent Schools Conference in Nashville, Tenn., and the Middle States Council for the Social Studies Conference in Lancaster, Pa.
