Handout D: Constitutional Connection Cards

Note :
Article I is divided into three separate cards.

ARTICLE ONE	ARTICLE ONE
“All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and a House of Representatives.…”	“Each House shall be the judge of the elections, returns and qualifications of its own members.…”

ARTICLE ONE	ARTICLE TWO
“The Congress shall have the power to lay and collected taxes, duties, imposts and excises.…”	“The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America.”

ARTICLE THREE	ARTICLE FOUR
“The judicial Power of the United States shall be vested in one Supreme Court, and in such inferior courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.”	“Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other state.”

ARTICLE FIVE	ARTICLE SIX
“The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution.…”	“This Constitution … shall be the supreme law of the land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding.”
