As the culminating project of the Bill of Rights Institute’s 2025 Student Fellowship, this “journal of student thought” focuses on a wide range of issues that have a profound impact on the lives of many, from America’s role in the world to civic education in our nation’s classrooms. As you read through our student contributors’ pieces, we encourage you to consider and reflect upon the following questions:</p>

    <p>No doubt, these questions are difficult, and at times controversial. However, we hope that it will facilitate productive dialogue about issues that young people care about. Civic engagement is the lifeblood of our democracy, and readers like you, individuals willing to confront challenging issues, is what allows our nation to carry on.</p>

    The future of democracy in the age of algorithms will be determined by the choices we make as citizens, voters, and leaders. We must decide whether these platforms will remain tools for polarization or be reclaimed as tools for progress.
