Mary brings over seven years of classroom experience and a variety of writing roles in the nonprofit sphere to her work with the content team. As a history and government teacher, Mary served in a variety of leadership roles within the school community, scored exams as an AP reader, and worked on several curriculum projects for Fairfax County Public Schools in northern Virginia.
As a content team member, Mary helps develop resources with an eye for what best supports teachers as they engage students of all levels in meaningful, relevant inquiries about the past. You can find her exploring primary sources on BRI’s YouTube channel and listen to her on the BRI podcast, FaBRIc of History.
Mary studied history at the College of William and Mary and secondary education at George Washington University. She holds her teaching license in history and social studies for grades 7-12.
