N.C. is a small step closer to making you put down the phone while you drive
A state House bill to ban use of hand-held cellphones and other wireless devices has cleared the first hurdle. House Bill 144, “Hands Free NC,” was introduced Feb. 25. Among the four primary sponsors is Rep. Jon Hardister, R-Guilford. The legislation incorporates the prohibition on texting while driving that became law in 2009.
