Meet Andy Weng
Livingston, New Jersey • Senior
“As a future voter,” says recent BRI Think the Vote Debate student winner Andy Weng, “I believe that the three most important things to consider are policy, policy, and policy. If a statute does not serve the best interests of the people, it is unconstitutional. When supporting a particular candidate, ensure that their policies match with your own beliefs and that their reputation merits your vote.”
Andy, a senior at Livingston High School in Livingston, New Jersey, hopes to one day take his love of policy with him to the United States Military Academy. His favorite subjects are AP United States History, AP Chemistry, and AP United States Government and Politics.
In his free time, Andy is an active member of his community, serving as the President of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), volunteering at a local hospital, and managing the Leo Club, an international volunteer organization. He is also an avid runner on Livingston’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams.
Andy’s biggest influence is his family. “I am constantly inspired by my mother, father, and sister, who have shown me the joy of pursuing knowledge in its purest form.”
