Meet Molly Schneider

It is no exaggeration to say that education is in Molly Schneider’s blood. “Both my parents and grandparents had full careers in education, so I have always been surrounded and inspired by those who love teaching.”
Molly has been teaching for 12 years, and currently teaches AP U.S. History and Dual-Enrollment American Government and Politics at Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School in Chardon, Ohio. She is also a proud recipient of a James Madison Fellowship, allowing her to pursue graduate work in American History and Government. Molly holds a B.A. in History, a Masters in Education, and a Masters in American History and Government. Her biggest inspiration is her father who spent over the 35 years in the classroom as a high school history teacher and continues to serve both the school community and the local community as a member of the city council.
Second only to her love of teaching is her love of U.S. History. “I love teaching The Founding Era,” says Molly, “because I love to explain to the students how America is one of the only countries founded on an idea and laying the foundation of this era is so pivotal to everything that happens afterward.”
Molly enjoys using BRI resources in her classroom, especially Documents of Freedom, and she has attended several BRI seminars, including a Liberty Fund seminar last March on Lincoln and the U.S. Constitution. “It was great to discuss one of my favorite presidents and historical eras with teachers from across the country,” says Molly. “It was an enriching experience that allowed me to feel so much more confident about teaching this topic to my students.”
