BRI has redesigned its summer programming!
Program 1: BRI/Liberty Fund co-sponsored Summer Institute: Constitutionalism, Citizenship, and the Role of Government in the American Nation
Dates: July 8-10, 2019
This week-long dialogue based program, co-sponsored by Liberty Fund, will ask participants to explore the role of government, constitutionalism, and citizenship as these ideas have been understood in American political practice and civic life. Participants will read and discuss documents from the Founding through the New Deal era deliberating on whether or not the these ideas have changed over time. Participants will come away from the conference with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the primary source documents and ideas discussed throughout the conference.
Program 2: BRI Summer Institute: Presidential Powers: Historical Turning Points
Dates: July 22-26, 2019
The new Summer Institute is a 5-day experience that enables teachers to travel to Washington, D.C., network with fellow educators from around the country, and develop their teaching craft. The week will be filled with lessons demonstrations, scholar presentations, workshops, and visits to key sites in the D.C. Metro area.
Spots in both programs will be by invitation only, for teachers who have previously attended BRI seminars, workshops, or events.
