Senior Education Program Specialist
Mary brings over seven years of classroom experience to her work with the curriculum team at the Bill of Rights Institute. As a social studies teacher, Mary has accompanied her students on adventures ranging from exploring primary sources at the school library to tracing the footsteps of Allied soldiers on the beaches of Normandy. In addition to her work with students, Mary has spent the last three years developing curriculum resources for history teachers in Fairfax County Public Schools. Her background allows her to approach BRI resources with an eye for what teachers need to engage students of all levels in meaningful, relevant discussions about the past and its role in shaping the present.
Mary received her B.A. in history cum laude from the College of William and Mary and her M.Ed. in secondary education summa cum laude from George Washington University.
