Looking for teacher-written resources to help engage your students with the First Amendment, landmark Supreme Court cases, and freedom of religion in their lives? Join the Bill of Rights Institute for a free one-day workshop which will provide you with easy-to-implement resources to bring the First Amendment alive.

This workshop is for U.S. History, Government, Civics and other Social Studies teachers and will be held at George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate, located at:  3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway  Mount Vernon, VA 22309. The seminar begins at 8:15 A.M. with registration and breakfast, and concludes at 4:30 P.M. Register Today!

Program Details:

  • Program Location: this program will be held at George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens.  The address to Mount Vernon  is: 3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway, Alexandria, VA 22309.  Driving directions are available here.

 

  • Parking: is available to seminar attendees free of charge in any of the several visitors lots at the Estate. Please also see the driving directions link above for more parking information.

 

  • Directions: After parking, participants should proceed through Shops at Mount Vernon entrance to Lobby area for registration and breakfast. The lobby will be directly ahead, past the gift shops and the George Washington family bust. Please also see the parking and arrival map for the location of the Shops entrance. *Please note that the Shops Entrance will be the only available entrance for program participants-all other entrances will be closed.

 

  • Breakfast and Registration begin at 8:15am, with the private Mansion tour and program sessions starting promptly at 8:45am.  *Please ensure you arrive at the registration area no later than 8:30am to participate in the Mansion tour. A complete agenda for the day is available here.
