The Bill of Rights for Real Life
The Bill of Rights for Real Life teaching guide includes 21 ready-to-go lessons complete with student handouts, key terms, reading quizzes, background essays, and an accompanying DVD set. Each lesson is tied to national history and civics standards and features reading tips to improve literacy, as well as a "Real Life Portal" to demonstrate the lesson's application to everyday life. The 8.5 reading level makes these connections accessible to your high school and gifted 8th grade students.
Students will understand the connection between current events and the Bill of Rights when they participate in activities such as:
- writing letters to their elected representatives;
- serving in a mock jury;
- creating public service announcements; and
- writing model laws.
