The Bill of Rights Institute is accepting nominations for students who have completed a civic engagement project to travel to Washington, D.C. to participate in a Constitution Day program organized by the Civics Renewal Network. 

Students must be nominated by a teacher, who will travel with them to Washington, D.C. if their nomination is accepted. 

Group projects are eligible for entry, but only one student may attend the program in Washington, D.C. to represent the group and their project. More information on eligible civic engagement projects can be found here

Civic Engagement Project

This section asks for information about the civic engagement project that the student is/was involved in. Eligible civic engagement projects will:
  • address a newsworthy civic issue, problem, or need
  • have the potential to influence policymakers
  • educate the public about the issue, problem, or need
  • include a call to action for supporters
  • demonstrate the use of civic skills
  • produce an outcome or lessons learned

Note: Strong preference will be given to projects that are either completed or ongoing.

This should be a short, Twitter-length, action statement.
