Currently, individual states and the federal government are fighting for control over gun legislation. The Supreme Court has identified the Second Amendment as a fundamental individual right in (District of Columba v. Heller, 2008), which only can be impeded upon with good rational reasoning. The definition of good rational reasoning is the area of much controversy. The nation is torn as to what extent background checks, concealed carry permits, purchasing licenses, and other forms of Second Amendment restrictions are deemed “good rational reasoning,” and on whose job it is to decide that? What do you think? Who should oversee gun legislation, the states or the federal government?
