Our successful track record and deep knowledge of our audience gives us confidence in our ability to reach teachers and students with the fundamental civic and historical knowledge they need to become more active and informed citizens. A few of our successes include:
- Producing 12 full sets of curriculum for both middle school and high school students.
- Reaching over 14,000 teachers through Constitutional Seminars and other professional development programs for teachers in 45 states.
- More than 97% of participating teachers consistently agree that they will recommend our teacher seminars to their peers.
- More than 90% of teachers who attend our seminars report gaining new content knowledge from the seminar
- More than 91% of teachers who attend our seminars believe that the new content knowledge and teaching methods gained from our seminars would have an impact on their students
- Nearly all students in programs developed by the Bill of Rights Institute stated that they were beneficial in the following ways: increased knowledge of Constitutional rights and government (62%), raised student awareness of rights and political issues (34%), and increased student interest in constitutional and political issues (29%). Numerous students indicated that they were totally unaware of their rights and protections prior to taking the BRI program.
- On most issues, students taught by teachers trained by the Bill of Rights Institute demonstrated higher levels of knowledge than those teachers that were not trained and just using The Bill of Rights Institute material; at times up to 15% more of the students in trained teachers’ classes responded correctly.
- Delivering instructional materials on America’s Founding documents to more than 3.4 million students nationwide.
- Of the students who attend our Constitutional Academy, 98% indicate that each day’s experience would have an impact on their future studies, and 98% would recommend the experience to other students.
- 95% of teachers who use our instructional materials say that their students have a better comprehension of the Bill of Rights after using the materials.
- The first year of the Yale University study of 1,000 Connecticut high school students found that the Bill of Rights for Real Life curriculum narrowed the “knowledge gap” between the lowest and highest achieving high school by 20%, and students who received the these lessons answered more questions about the Constitution correctly than students taught with other materials.
